Pioneering large-scale mental health virtual group consultations: widening access to care and reducing workload

26 Feb 2025
Best Practice Workshop Theatre

The session today will demonstrate how large scale virtual mental health group consultations delivered in a primary care setting are clinically effective at supporting the mental health of 100 plus patients at a time. Delivering the same impact as NHS Talking Therapies in 8 hours versus 800 hours of resource, this new clinician led mental health model has the capacity to transform the way mental health is delivered, creating new pathways of care which widen access, reduce workload, flatten demand and waiting lists and realise bankable cost savings to the NHS.

Speakers
Rebecca Howard, Clinical Psychotherapist, CEO and Founder - Shinymind
Omotayo Kufeji, Clinical Director - The Bridge PCN, Milton Keynes
Janet Thornley, Strategic Primary Care Nurse Lead - BLMK ICB
