Update on UK routine vaccination programme changes
The session will describe the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) recommendations for forthcoming changes which are being planned for the UK vaccine programmes.
- To provide information on the proposed changes and recommendations to the routine immunisation from the JCVI.
- JCVI recommendations from JCVI following the discontinuation of the Menitorix© vaccine.
- Consider the current measles epidemiology and outbreaks and recommendations for amendment to the MMR schedule.
- JCVI recommendations for the addition of varicella vaccination for chicken pox.
The UK vaccine programmes are constantly evolving and expanding as new vaccines become available and as the impact of vaccines given in the routine programmes to the disease epidemiology becomes available. The UK vaccine programmes are informed by the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) who make recommendations to the UK governments. This session describes to forthcoming changes being recommended for the UK programme.
