Anish Kotecha

GP, Head of Medical Education, Cwmbran Village Surgery and Learna
Anish Kotecha FRCGP, FAcadMEd, GPwERLM, MBBCh, BSc Anish Kotecha works as a GP in South Wales. He is also the Head of Medical Education at Learna where he is responsible for the strategic planning and development of new postgraduate programmes. He evaluates the academic and educational integrity of the business and develops the use of AI within the educational space. He contributes to managing relationships with partnering universities and his role includes collaborating with external partners to expand the educational portfolio and supporting the editorial, marketing and admissions teams. He has an evolving interest in longevity and anti-ageing medicine and is the programme director for an innovative new postgraduate certificate in conjunction with the University of South Wales. He is keen to educate others on recommending specific lifestyle advice relating to diet, sleep, exercise, and stress to offer holistic management that empowers a patient-centered approach. He continues to highlight the benefits of taking an integrative and personalised approach to help more patients live youthfully into old age. He also educates healthcare professionals on weight management, in particular regarding GLP1 receptor agonists. Within his other roles, he is the Medical Director and Clinical Safety Officer for Device Link, YouCan Clinic Weight Management Trainer, GPnotebook TV presenter, GP appraiser, InnovAiT AKT editor and SCA Revision Lead, RCGP Clinical Events Quality Assessor, and Cardiff University Communication Skills Tutor and Examiner for medical students. For his work in medical education, he has been elected to fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Academy of Medical Educators.
