Janet Thornley

Janet moved into general practice from midwifery in 1995 and worked initially as a practice nurse and latterly as Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
She has enjoyed a portfolio career including associate lecturer at Bucks New University and GP training . Education continues to be an area of interest.
Janet's role as Strategic Primary Care Nurse Lead for Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes ICB involves raising the profile of General Practice Nurses whilst welcoming and encouraging new roles into practice such as Nursing Associates . Workforce training and development across the Primary Care Networks is vital to support colleagues gain skills and knowledge and develop creative ways of working to serve our local populations into the future. As Clinical Lead for Health and Wellbeing across the ICB too, Janet is active in projects that improve compassionate culture and bring joy back to work for our hard working colleagues.
