Mark Wilson

Finance Director of Modality partnership
Following his qualification as a chartered accountant with KPMG, Mark developed extensive experience in the regulatory and financial framework for primary medical care as an independent consultant supporting the NHS. Mark worked with general practices moving from GMS to PMS arrangements and provided technical advice to the Primary Medical Care Branch of the Department of Health for eight years, supporting negotiations with Treasury and the BMA. He then worked with NHS England supporting both policy development and the implementation of contractual changes to primary care. He provided technical financial support to the Finance directorate covering primary medical care and pharmacy. He was also finance lead for NHS Employers for negotiations on the community pharmacy contractual framework. In 2016, Mark turned from commissioner to provider, becoming Finance Director for the Modality Partnership, and supported the mergers of 30+ practices across the country into a single national partnership. Modality Partnership now has 130+ partners providing primary care to over 475,000 patients. With additional interests in the delivery of outpatient services, digital and lifestyle services as well as healthcare research, and ancillary services such as property, the wider Modality Group has a turnover of £116m.
