Presenters

Chair: Tara Humphrey, MBA - CEO, THC Primary Care

Tara Humphrey holds an MBA in Healthcare Leadership and Management and is the Founder and CEO of THC Primary care. Tara is also a leading healthcare communicator who has written over 200 blogs on leadership and management and primary care networks, she is published in the London Journal of Primary Care, and hosts the Business of Healthcare Podcast, where she has released over 240 episodes.

  • Shaun Hockey - Pharmacist/Managing Director, Medacy

Shaun Hockey, a seasoned pharmacist with a career spanning since 1994, brings a wealth of experience from various sectors of the pharmacy profession. His community, hospital, prison service, and primary care pharmacy roles have given him a comprehensive understanding of the field. Shaun's journey led him to establish Medacy two decades ago, where he has been instrumental in pioneering pharmacist-led clinical services since 2015.

Shaun's commitment to pharmacy is evident in his dual roles as a practice pharmacist in North Yorkshire and the Managing Director of Medacy. His passion lies in assisting individual practices, PCNs, and ICSs in realising the full potential of clinical pharmacy services. Despite the significant growth in the number of clinical pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians in primary care over the past five years, Shaun believes we have only begun to tap into what Primary Care Pharmacy Teams can deliver for the NHS.

Medacy support practices and PCNs across England and Wales can offer in-practice, hybrid and remote support, with the remote service acting as a levelling-up superpower to enable even the most remote communities to benefit from clinical pharmacist support

  • Lavan Baskaran - Private/NHS GP Partner

Dr Lavan Baskaran has been working as a doctor for the NHS for 17 years. He has been a GP Senior Partner for over a decade, and whilst running both his practices in South West London, covering twenty thousand patients, has developed specialist interests in Diabetes, Renal disease, E.N.T, Minor Surgery, Transgender Health and A.D.H.D. He offers his strategic input through Clinical/Federation Director roles across a number of practices in his areas of Sutton and Croydon, but now focuses his time speaking nationally on Cardio-Metabolic Health and Lifestyle Medicine for a variety of pharmaceutical companies, as well as building his private GP and ADHD clinic on Harley Street.
Disclosures: I do talks for Astra Zeneca, NovoNordisk, Idorsia, Raisio and Meda
